Former WWE Champion Batista will not be fighting for StrikeForce MMA
According to Kevin Kellam
Former WWE Champion Batista's deal with StrikeForce for a potential MMA fighting career is dead, according to a report in TMZ.Batista (real name: Dave Bautista) was pursuing a deal with the number 2 MMA promotion for since last year, after finishing his contract with WWE. Batista was training for MMA and was rumored to be seeking a a big money deal with StrikeForce, but the UFC recent aqusistion of StrikeForce killed the deal.
Batista told TMZ he was "real disappointed" with the deal falling through and that he "really had (his) heart set on Strikeforce."
Obvivously, this does leave the door open for 'the Animal' to return to WWE. With the recent retirement of Edge and the Undertaker on hiatus, WWE could use the main event muscle of Batista on their roster. Batista has made several independent movies, so acting could also be in his future.
But at his age and his strong condition, Batista would be welcomed back with open arms by WWE.
Sorry Bud!
